Despite being toys, Legos inspire amazing creations. LEGO artists use tiny plastic bricks for everything from robots and architecture. The company’s engineers also design new elements that enable builders to build more intricate models. Erik Varszegi is a Master Builder at the Lego Group, Billund, Denmark. He designed a new element to be used this year, the curving slope. It allows Lego users create more slanted shapes while still adhering to the company’s strict color palette. The slopes can also be used to create a more dynamic shape, like the curving staircase.
Some Lego sets are the result of the work of professional designers and some are the result of the popular Lego Ideas program. The Ideas line lets anyone design a set and it’s also possible to produce. It grants fame and one you could try these out percent of sales for anyone who convinces 10,000 of their peers that their creation is worthy of be made. It’s no surprise that the more extravagant and impressive sets typically garner the most acclaim — particularly when they feature iconic scenes or characters from television shows, films or from the real world.
